Fellowship in Advanced Rural General Practice

FELLOWSHIP IN ADVANCED RURAL GENERAL PRACTICE

The Fellowship in Advanced Rural General Practice is offered by the National Rural Faculty of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

It is an optional additional year of training which may be undertaken during or at the completion of the Australian General Practice Training Program.

It recognises the additional and different educational requirements needed for general practice in rural communities and further prepares doctors for working in these communities.

NCGPT has Advanced Rural Skills Posts suitable for fellowship in the following disciplines

  • Emergency Medicine
  • Anaesthetics
  • Obstetrics and Gynaecology
  • Mental Health
  • Aboriginal Health

Some of these posts may be undertaken in conjunction with the GP Procedural Training Program.
