The Hastings Macleay area stretches from Stuarts Point in the North to Laurieton in the South and West to Wauchope.
Towns in this area include Bonny Hills, Crescent Head, Hat Head, Kempsey, Kendall, Kew, Lake Cathie, Port Macquarie, North Haven, South West Rocks and Telegraph Point.
The natural features of the Pacific Ocean in the east, with a coastline of some 84 kilometres, and the Great Dividing Range in the west, provide the natural boundaries to the area. A large proportion of the area is taken up by State Forest and the National Parks. The topography of the area is very diverse ranging from sand dunes, coastal wetlands, flood plains and rugged mountain regions.
The main industries are agriculture, tourism and manufacturing.
