NORTHERN RIVERS COVERAGE

The Northern Rivers area stretches from Burringbar in the north to Yamba in the south and west to Casino.
Towns in this area include Alstonville, Ballina, Bangalow, Brunswick Heads, Byron Bay, Casino, Coraki, Evans Head, Goonellabah, Kyogle, Lennox Head, Lismore, Maclean, Mullumbimby, Nimbin, The Channon and Wardell.
The area consists of a narrow coastal strip divided by several large river valleys and flood plains. These valleys are separated by hilly regions. In some cases, such as the Clarence River valley the river flats may extend inland up to 30 kms or more.
This area is one of the most agriculturally diversified regions in Australia and produces sugar cane, dairy and beef, bananas, subtropical fruits and nuts, tea, coffee, echinachea, and tea tree oil. The region also boasts an emerging aquaculture industry with silver bass, prawns and perch now being developed
