Debbie graduated from Monash University in Melbourne in 1989. She started down the path of physician training but then saw the light and switched to general practice training.

This enlightenment was rapidly followed by another - that there were better climates and lifestyles to be had than Melbourne had to offer. Her seachange in 1993 led her to the Port Macquarie area where she has worked in general practice (in Laurieton) ever since - solo for some of that time and now in group practice.

Outside of medicine, Debbie spent several years on a farm breeding alpacas and cattle, as well as caring for an assortment of other animals. She has now "retired" to a more laid back town life where she can enjoy her proximity to the beach (and shops).
