The Fellowship in Advanced Rural General Practice (FARGP) is offered by the National Rural Faculty of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).
It is an optional additional year of training which may be undertaken during or at the completion of the Australian General Practice Training Program.
It recognises the additional and different educational requirements needed for general practice in rural communities and further prepares doctors for working in these communities.
To support FARGP candidates NCGPT has Advanced Rural Skills Posts in the following disciplines:
Some of these posts may be undertaken in conjunction with the GP Procedural Training Program.
North Coast GP Training's FARGP advisor is Dr Christine Ahern, Director of Training.
