I spent my youth marauding the back streets of inner city Melbourne and following the mighty Hawks at the old Princess Park footy ground.

I finished school and headed to my university interview for medicine. I was told it would be a good idea to take some time off before starting the long haul of six years. Fortunately for them, and me, I had a plane ticket booked the next day to leave for Israel. I spent the next 12 months on a youth leadership programme that toured through Jerusalem and a kibbutz in the desert near the Red Sea.

I reluctantly returned to Australia and started studying. Six years university turned into seven years as I took another year off to return to Israel, this time completing a Bachelor of Medical Science.

The travel bug had took hold however, and after final year I moved to NSW and completed internship mainly at Lismore Base Hospital.

I then moved to Darwin where I spent the next six years. I completed my general practise training in Darwin and Alice Springs and spent 2 years as a research project officer in remote Indigenous health.

After a short stint back in Melbourne to reconnect with family (and the mighty Hawks!), I have finally come back to the North Coast.

My medical interests are in youth, mental health, hypnotherapy and counselling. I enjoy the creative process of planning and delivering educational programmes and I am happy to finally say this is now part of my work as well.

Otherwise my spare time is divvied up between my family, catching a wave and beach combing.
