North Coast GP Training is my third venture into the workforce having retired twice before! My first career was as a teacher and school principal for 27 years. This was followed by 10 years as a Director at Upper Murray Family Care, a wonderful social welfare agency that managed a wide variety of family support programs. Yes , I am old!!! I applied for a 12 month relieving position at NCGPT almost 2 years ago and I am happy to say that I am still part of this fantastic organisation. Somehow I don’t seem to do as well at retirement as I do in the workforce, perhaps it is something that you have to train for.
In my spare time I have been assisting my husband in owner building our “retirement home” at Ocean Shores and I have learned many new skills such as using a nail gun, a drop saw and waterproofing bathrooms, not all of these would I recommend.
I have 2 wonderful daughters and 3 energetic grandchildren with another due on Christmas Day 2011. Unfortunately the kids live in Melbourne and Tamworth so we do quite a bit of travelling each year to make sure we stay in touch.
I’m looking forward to doing more travelling overseas in the future and in the meantime try to keep active with swimming, Byron Bay lighthouse walks and kayaking.
